The training series is led by Thomas H. Blenk, Chief Training Officer of SolarisTech, whose extensive background in maritime education and regulatory oversight ensures the highest standard of course quality. Mr. Blenk is a certified instructor under STCW Regulation I/6 and a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). He holds a U.S. Coast Guard engineering license and has completed executive training at Harvard, specializing in maritime leadership and organizational strategy. His instructional experience includes teaching technical and regulatory subjects at an IACS-member maritime academy, and he previously served as Program Leader for the IMO Recognized Organization (RO) Oversight Program at a top-tier classification society. As a former Deputy Commissioner of Maritime Affairs, Mr. Blenk was responsible for statutory oversight across global vessel inspection programs. His leadership ensures that every SolarisTech Learning Series course is built on a foundation of practical insight, educational rigor, and full alignment with international compliance standards.
