SolarisTech Learning

The training series is led by Thomas H. Blenk, Chief Training Officer of SolarisTech, whose career spans maritime education, regulatory oversight, and global vessel compliance. He is a certified instructor under STCW Regulation I/6 and a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). Mr. Blenk holds a U.S. Coast Guard engineering license and has completed executive leadership training focused on maritime leadership and organizational strategy. His instructional background includes teaching technical and regulatory subjects at an IACS-member maritime academy. He previously served as Program Leader for the IMO Recognized Organization Oversight Program at a leading classification society and later as Deputy Commissioner of Maritime Affairs, where he was responsible for statutory oversight across global vessel inspection programs. This experience ensures every course in the SolarisTech Learning Series is grounded in real-world practice, regulatory accuracy, and practical application aligned with international compliance standards.
